Bombs away
I do not like the way our country is headed, but a word of warning to my grandson and great grandsons who will have to eventually deal with the fallout of our recent state of politics.
My pacifist son is all for the direct action taken by our government in bombing Syria. My Tea Party relatives and conservative relatives in Michigan and Utah also must be feeling good.
I think we had a chance to elect an adult, but instead chose a child to lead us.
Where he is leading is truly frightening.
Do we always have to “draw that line” in the sand?
What happened to the non- violent peaceful protest?
There is always justification, but there we are bombing and strafing, Tomahawking and barrel bombing, gassing and poisoning the earth and air.
No good will come of this, no matter what the blowback and ramifications in the greater international scene.
Once a military gets unleashed, there is always a good reason to use our force in a little bit wider fashion.
There is a good program coming up on public television this weekend.
It deals with the history of the First World War that changed society.
It is worth a watch, even though I already have had many stories of this war.
Some were through the history books, novels and television shows like Downton Abbey, but since it comes at an appropriate time, it serves as a further warning.
