Today in the New York times, we are alerted once again of the dangers of our actions upon the planet. The ice is melting on the Greenland glacier, and scientist are risking their lives and comfort, to measure the amount of melting water running down the many holes in the glacier.
In our country, the man who dispenses the money for these scientific measurements is trying to cut off all the money.
Representative Lamarr Smith of Texas has begun an expensive witch hunt at Nasa to find out if there has been waste in the allotting of grants in the last six years.
He wants all documents and communications related to Nasa’s measurements of climate change. How he is going to interpret these findings is not open to opinion.
He will find that the results do not warrant any more funding for scientific research, after wasting millions to examine six years of measurements.
These kind of dinosaurs are running our government into chaos, and there should be some action like impeachment for his actions while pretending to run the government.
What is it with these rich Republicans that want to sell their dirty petroleum products at any cost to the health of the planet?
Are they too old and lame to see that the increase in drought and heavy rainfall from hurricanes needs more research and information not less?
Right now the scientists do not know if their predictions run from computer models are entirely accurate, so need the boots on the ground on the glaciers to find out what is real and not guessing.
Twenty years is what they give us for the timeline for flooding in the Potomac basin, Bangladesh going under, and New York having to build dikes on the Battery. It would be good to know for certain, so we could move inland, and get out the sandbags.
