A new establishment in our little city is a refurbished bank building in the main downtown shopping area. It is Capone’s Speakeasy, offering the latest in lounge experience.
It will be in competition with the Irish pub down the street about four blocks away, and the beer and pizza joint in the other direction. One tasty meal that I found to be rather unattractive is Waffles and Wine!
Somehow that combination does not appeal to me.
We have a lot of Asian food places, and one Lithuanian restaurant which is authentic, but too heavy for every day.
Mexican and Italian foods are staples, but the mall is going to offer us smoked pork very soon.
On a side line topic, the police blotter is listing the number of people who have been picked up for psychiatric evaluation. I inquired at the police department and found that these people have become problems to someone, either friends or family, and the law was called in to deal with them. Usually they are held for 72 hours and then let out.
I don’t know the number of repeats, but it could be some of the same ones.
One week the average was one per day, The next week’s count was up to eleven. Stay tuned. They may be overwhelmed with the choice of food and drink here, and are craving some hospital food and sobriety!
