Todays editorial page of the New York Times said that 80% of girls 12-16 have experienced some form of sexual harrassment in public schools. This is in America, 2014!
It did not start just recenmtly either.
When I was 9 years old and attending one of the most sought after grade schools in the Bay Area, I had a crush on a fellow third grader.
I don’t know if he was afraid of me or what, but one day he caught me in front of the boys restroom, and decided to “tease” me by getting a bunch of his friends to help him push me into the restroom.
I don’t know what his plans were for after he succeeded in doing so, but fortunately I backed up against the privacy wall and fought back.
My answer to his “teasing” was a solid right cross to his chin. I was angry that he drove me to violence, but was not the kind of girl to put up with bullying, no matter how many boys were lined up to get whatever “thrills” there were to be had by cornering one little girl in the boys pissroom.
