In the news lately are two noted “personalities” namely Monica Lewinsky and Michael Jackson. My readers and followers may wonder why these two are lumped together in this essay.
The reason is that I have only a few pungent comments for each, and they are really not that high in importance to me.
I happened to catch the Barbara Walters special and heard the interview of Ms. Lewinski. She was called names by a lot of other famous people, but I think narcissistic is the only applicable term. She had family help in becoming a White House intern, and since the scandal of twenty years past has not really done much with herself, and still relies on family for money. Here is a woman who may have been foolish and gaga over a powerful man, but did not stop to think about all the pain that she would cause the family. I really felt for Chelsea as she was trying to study amidst all the media circus. Yes, Monica you made a Big Mistake, but the biggest thing was the telling after the kissing!
Michael Jackson never impressed me with his cosmetic surgery, make up to look like a geisha girl and antics at his ranch where he pretended to be a little boy again. His dangling of the infant over the hotel balcony was scary and so uncessasary.
I had a friend who raved about the concert she went to when Michael was touring Australia. She said that if you spend $40 on a meal, then it is consumed, you go to the bathroom and that is it! With a concert, you see this skinny guy prance around on stage with a few fireworks going off, and then you have the memory forever. Also, you have the tickets I guess, but I would rather have the $40 meal.
Mostly I never cared for Michael Jackson because he can’t sing worth a $$!##! The high girlie voice irritates me, and his little grunts sound just like he was having a fit of constipation. Ah well, we all have free agency in how we waste our money, and the media is only too happy to help us in throwing money at the so called celebrities, whether they are in a blue dress or spangled glove.
