Recently the news has been featuring the fact that we are going to have less young workers to support the older ones in this country and in Europe on account of families not breeding so much.
The answer in France seems to be to bribe mothers into having more children than they wanted.
In this country we have the right to our happiness if we reach that state with only one or two children. If we go the French route and have government handouts to mothers to increase the baby count, what kind of society are we?
When that next generantion of children get to be working age, and they find out that they were deliberately created to throw into the work force, how are they going to feel? Happy?
I think not.
We need to take time to enjoy the things we have, and not worry so much as to our place in the economic status of the world.
Those countries with over population do not enjoy the niceties of safe housing, clean air and safe drinking water, and struggle to just survive. Are they the ones that should have a population boom?
How about their happiness?
I have a new great grandson, and his parents are shocked at the cost of having only one child! Well educted couples with good jobs are happy to be parents, but keep control enough to enjoy their life, and not let the government convince them to get carried away with “populating” the earth.
The earth would be happier with fewer people too, as the pollution collects and the aquifers dry up.
What is the purpose of increased population?
To consume and use up resources, but to whose benefit?
Let’s try working longer, working and eating healthier, and let the parents of the next generation of worker bees relax.
